Gretchen Rubin: The Four Tendencies

Gretchen Rubin is an author who writes about human behaviour. You might have heard of her book The Happiness Project that was published in 2009 and became a #1 New York Times Bestseller. Her most recent book is called The Four Tendencies and is about human behaviour. In her own words about the book:

“During my multi-book investigation into human nature, I realized that by asking the suspiciously simple question ‘How do I respond to expectations?’ we gain explosive self-knowledge. I discovered that people fit into Four Tendencies: Upholders, Questioners, Obligers, and Rebels. Our Tendency shapes every aspect of our behaviour, so understanding this framework lets us make better decisions, meet deadlines, suffer less stress and burnout, and engage more effectively. The Four Tendencies explain why we act and why we don’t act.”

I just finished the book and enjoyed it, and if this is the type of thing that interests you, I would recommend you read it too.

Here’s THE QUIZ to determine where you fit into this framework.

Apparently I’m a Questioner. What are you?
